主讲人简介:丰田三佳(Mika Toyota)是德国柏林马克斯-普朗克人类发展研究所适应性理性中心的研究员。她曾任日本东京立教大学教授(2012-2020 年),并曾在新加坡国立大学(2002-2012 年)和英国赫尔大学(2000-2002 年)工作。她就跨国背景下的老龄化和照护问题发表了大量论文。她目前的研究探讨日本及其他国家老龄人口的自主性和新兴服务业。

项飙:项飙曾在北京大学攻读社会学,并在英国牛津大学获得社会人类学博士学位。在 2021 年加入德国马克斯普朗克社会人类学研究所之前,他是牛津大学社会人类学教授。项飙的主要研究涉及中国、印度和亚洲其他地区的各种类型的移民和流动。通过移民这一视角,他研究了广泛的政治经济学问题,包括国家-社会关系、劳动力、社会再生产和流动性治理。他在2000年出版的中文著作《跨越边界的社区》于2018年作为当代经典再版,而《把自己作为方法》(与吴琦合著)被豆瓣网站评为2020年中国最具影响力图书。通过面向公众的文章和访谈,他的观点经常在国内外引起广泛讨论。
张艳霞:张艳霞是中国农业大学人文与发展学院教授。她在牛津大学获得社会政策博士,曾担任新加坡国立大学博士后、客座研究员、文莱大学高级讲师、亚洲开发银行社会发展专家。近年论文发表在社会学、社会政策、性别研究和社会工作核心期刊,主要关注养老服务、乡村治理、婚姻家庭变迁、家庭政策比较等领域。

Introduction to the Speakers: Mika Toyota is a Research Scientist at the Centre for Adaptive Rationality, Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, Germany. She was previously a Professor at Rikkyo University, Tokyo, Japan (2012-2020), and worked at the National University of Singapore (2002-2012) and University of Hull, UK (2000-2002). She has published widely on issues related to aging and care in transnational contexts. Her current research explores the autonomy of ageing population and emerging new service industry in Japan and beyond.
Commentator:
Xiang Biao studied sociology at Beijing University, China, and received his PhD in social anthropology from the University of Oxford, UK. He was Professor of Social Anthropology at Oxford before he joined MPI in 2021.Xiang Biao’s main research addresses various types of migration and mobility. Through the lens of migration, he has examined a wide range of political economy issues, including state-society relations, labour, social reproduction, and mobility governance.His 2000 Chinese book 《跨越边界的社区》 (published in English as Transcending Boundaries, 2005) was reprinted in 2018 as a contemporary classic, and 《把自己作为方法》 (Self as Method, co-authored with Wu Qi) was ranked the Most Impactful Book 2020 in China according to the website Douban. Through public-facing articles and interviews, his ideas regularly generate wide discussions in China and beyond.
Zhang Yanxia is a Professor at the College of Humanities and Development Studies, China Agricultural University (CAU). She received her Ph.D. in Social Policy from the University of Oxford and worked at National University of Singapore and the University of Brunei Darussalam, and served Asian Development Bank as a Social Development Specialist before joining CAU in 2014. Her recent publication has appeared in the peer-reviewed journals in the fields of sociology, social policy, gender studies and social work. Her current research interests include elderly care, rural governance, changing marriage and family and cross-national studies on family policies.
