主讲人简介：宗树人，香港大学社会学系及人文社会科学研究所人类学教授，香港大学环球社会与可持续发展研究室主任。本科毕业于麦吉尔大学，2002年在法国国立高等实验研究学院（巴黎文理研究大学）获得博士学位，并曾在伦敦政治经济学院从事博士后研究。作为研究全球化背景下近现代中国的知名学者，其多部著作曾荣获国际学术奖项。宗树人近期重大合作项目围绕 “一带一路”上的社会文化维度。他领导着国际田野研究团队，考察中国海外基建项目的社会影响，并致力于开发符合中国国情与当地实际状况的利益相关方参与机制及社会风险管理方案。

Introduction to the Speaker: Dr. David A Palmer is a Professor jointly appointed by the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences and the Department of Sociology at the University of Hong Kong, and the Director of the Global Society and Sustainability Lab. After completing his Ph.D. at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (School for Advanced Research, Université Paris PSL) in 2002, he was the Eileen Barker Fellow in Religion and Contemporary Society in the Department of Sociology of the London School of Economics and Political Science. Palmer is a leading scholar in the study of contemporary China in the context of globalization, with several of his major works having received prestigious international academic awards. His recent research centers on the social and cultural dimensions of the Belt and Road Initiative. He heads an international field team examining the social impacts of Chinese overseas infrastructure projects, with a focus on developing stakeholder engagement mechanisms and social risk management strategies that are responsive to both China’ s national realities and the specific conditions of host countries.
