主讲人简介：杨丹（Jon Daane）博士毕生致力于通过更有效地运用知识，以及为农村发展（尤其是发展中国家）创造更具地方性的知识，来改善农村人口的生活状况。为此，他倡导“做中学”的新方法，以提升农民、商贩、加工者、金融服务与咨询提供者、政策制定者、科研及教育机构的能力，共同推动减少贫困和环境退化的农村创新。杨丹博士在荷兰瓦赫宁根大学获得农村发展社会学与经济学硕士及博士学位，并在该校任职18年，期间开展马来西亚农民组织研究，并在贝宁筹建新农学院。在此后19年中，他担任国际农业发展研究中心（ICRA）主任。该中心聚焦农村与农业发展的具体问题，帮助农村发展领域的参与者以跨学科、跨机构团队协作解决具体问题。杨丹博士的足迹遍布亚洲、非洲和拉丁美洲等34个国家，完成逾百次学术活动。杨丹博士现为吉林农业大学的客座教授，也在中国农业大学举办过多场学术讲座。

Introduction to the Speaker: Dr. Jon Daane’s lifelong mission has been to improve the livelihoods of rural people through better use of knowledge and by promoting the generation of more relevant knowledge for rural development, particularly in developing countries. For this, he promoted new ways of learning by doing to strengthen the capacities of farmers, traders, processors, providers of financial and advisory services, policy makers, research and education institutes to jointly promote rural innovation that reduces poverty and environmental degradation in developing regions.
Jon obtained his master’s and PhD degrees from Wageningen University in the field of rural development sociology and economics. He worked for the university for 18 years doing research on farmers’ organisations in Malaysia and setting up a new faculty of agriculture in Benin. In the following 19 years of his career, Jon was Director of the International Centre for development-oriented Research in Agriculture (ICRA). ICRA helps actors engaged in jointly addressing specific issues in rural development to learn (by doing) to work together in interdisciplinary and interinstitutional teams. Jon did over 100 professional missions to 34 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Jon is currently a visiting professor at Jilin Agricultural University, and he has also given lectures in China Agricultural University.
