亚当·哈尼现任埃克塞特大学阿拉伯与伊斯兰研究学院政治经济学与全球发展教授,并兼任清华大学国际与地区研究院杰出研究员。他的研究主要围绕石油与资本主义、能源转型及中东政治经济学展开。目前已出版五部专著,其中四部为独立完成,一部为合编。在近期出版的《原油资本主义:石油、企业权力与世界市场的塑造》中,他系统分析了全球石油体系的运作机制;另一部著作《货币、市场与君主制:海湾合作委员会与当代中东政治经济学》于2018年由剑桥大学出版社出版,并于次年荣获英国国际研究协会国际政治经济学组年度图书奖。在加入埃克塞特大学之前,哈尼教授曾任教于伦敦大学亚非学院发展研究学系。他不仅是巴勒斯坦研究中心的创始成员之一,也长期参与伦敦中东研究所的学术活动。2018年至2020年期间,他曾担任亚非学院移民与散居研究中心联合主席。目前,他还担任位于华盛顿的中东研究与信息项目理事,以及阿姆斯特丹跨国研究所的研究员。

Introduction to the Speakers:
Adam Hanieh is Professor of Political Economy and Global Development at the Institute for Arab and Islamic Studies (IAIS), University of Exeter, and Distinguished Fellow at the Institute of International and Area Studies (IIAS) at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.
His current research focuses on oil and capitalism, energy transitions, and the political economy of the Middle East. To date, he has published five books (four single authored and one co-edited) the most recent of which is Crude Capitalism: Oil, Corporate Power, and the Making of the World Market. His third book, Money, Markets, and Monarchies: The Gulf Cooperation Council and the Political Economy of the Contemporary Middle East, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2018, and was awarded the 2019 British International Studies Association International Political Economy Group Book Prize.
Prior to joining the University of Exeter, Professor. Hanieh was a Professor of Development Studies at SOAS, University of London. He was a founding member of the Centre for Palestine Studies and active in the London Middle East Institute. He also served as co-chair of the SOAS Centre for Migration and Diaspora Studies between 2018 and 2020. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Middle East and Research Information Project (MERIP), based in Washington D.C., and a Research Fellow at the Transnational Institute (TNI).
