Dr. Zhijun Cao is the Professor and Associate Dean of College of Animal Science & Technology, China Agricultural University (CAU). His bachelor degree was from Heilongjiang Bayi Agirucltural University and his Ph.D degree was from CAU. He spent 5 months in South Dakota State University and University of Wisconsin-Madison as the exchange student in 2006, and 15 months in Cornell University as the visiting professor in 2010-2011. His research program for the last 10 years has been the nutrient requirements of dairy calves and heifers, and the control of energy metabolism in transition dairy cows.
As the first author or corresponding author, he has published 67 peer-reviewed articles (11 in Journal of Dairy Science) and is the recipient of several awards including the National Special Support Program for High-level Personnel Recruitment, the Beijing NOVA Program Award and the DBN Award for Young Scientist. He serves as the Committee Member of Nutrient Requirements of Dairy Cattle in China, and Deputy General Secretary of China Cattle Science Association, Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. He is also the editor-in-chief of Hoard’s Dairyman China and the editorial member of Animals.
He is the founder of Elite Cattlemen Program (ECP) in 2011, which has always been committed to the rearing of new power for the Chinese dairy and beef cattle industry. Within only five years (since 2015), the ECP has expanded herself to become the Elite Cattlemen Program Alliance (ECPA) among with the league of over 40 agricultural universities all over the country.
曹志军，中国农业大学领军教授，博士生导师。担任动物科学技术学院党委副书记，北京农学院校长助理（挂职，2020-）。主要从事奶牛营养与牛奶质量研究工作。其中2006年6月-10月南达科他州立大学和威斯康辛大学麦迪逊分校联合培养，2010年3月-2011年5月康奈尔大学访问教授。
担任《养牛》杂志主编，中国牛精英创新创业教育联盟秘书长，北京科委科特派（丰宁）奶牛肉牛产业扶贫工作站站长。北京市科技新星（2012），北京市优秀人才（2013）。
主持制定首部国家标准《后备奶牛饲养技术规范（GB/T37116-2018）》，成果入选农业农村部主推技术3项，主编农业农村部全国畜牧总站主推教材2部，第一或通讯作者发表文章67篇（其中SCI收录42篇，国际权威杂志J Dairy Sci 11篇）；入选J Dairy Sci Author Loyalty Rewards（2018），2次入选J Dairy Sci亮点文章（通讯作者）（2012，2019）。
获得教育部科技进步一等奖（2019，排名1）、国家科技进步二等奖（2014，排名5）、北京市高等教育教学成果一等奖（2018，排名1）、 北京高校第十一届青年教师教学基本功大赛工科类一等奖第1名（2019）等多项荣誉。
