China Agricultural University (CAU) is the origin of China's modern agricultural higher education and one of the best agricultural universities in China and the world. As the platform for scientific research and talent cultivation on international development and global agricultural related disciplines, the College of International Development and Global Agriculture at CAU will offer a master program to train international talents in public management. The program combines Chinese development experience and international perspectives to train high-level talents in relation to development discourses, policies and governance. Students will benefit from world-class teaching system and the insights from renowned humanities and social sciences Chinese scholars, and from the expertise of their international counterparts.

Duration
The program duration will take 2 consecutive years, wherein course work is expected to be finished during the first year, and the rest will be allotted for research work.
Course Requirements and Curriculum
The credit requirements for the Master’s Degree are 30 credit units. The main courses include:
1. Compulsory courses: Elementary Chinese, Overview of China, Academic Integrity and Dissertation Writing, Public Policy and Analysis, Public Administration, Methodology of Social Research, Public Economics Public, Administration Research Methods, Advanced Development Studies, etc.
2. Optional courses: Global Agriculture Governance, Development Paradigm and Models of China, etc.
3. Practices: Professional Practice, Academic Seminars, etc.
4. Master’s Thesis
Scholarship Application
Applicants are welcomed to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship. Deadline of application will be on March 31, 2021.
Scholarship requirements:
(1) Applicants must be a citizen of any African countries;
(2) GPA should be not less than 3.0;
(3) A copy of the Bachelor’s degree diploma obtained from an institution with well academic reputation;
(4) Applicant has relatively strong academic background in the field he/she intends to apply;
(5) Not more than 35 years old upon application for the Master’s degree.
Scholarship Application Procedure:
(1) Register to the Chinese Scholarship Council Application Portal at (http://www.campuschina.org). Please select Agency No. 10019 for CAU and choose Program Type B.
(2) Choose Management as the discipline and Public Management as the major.
NOTE: The approval of the scholarship application is subject to the final evaluation of the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC).
CAU Application Documents
1. One copy of the applicant's recent ID photo (2 inches).
2. One copy of the personal information page of the applicant’s passport.
3. The original or notarized photocopies of degree certificate or proof of education in academic institution, and academic transcript; The certificate provided should be the original document in Chinese or in English; otherwise, notarized translation in Chinese or English is required.
4. A statement of purpose indicating the reasons you want to apply for the program, academic interests, and areas of potential study (maximum of 2 pages, double space, 12pt).
5. Two academic recommendation letters from Professors (Associate Professorship or higher).
6. Copy of physical examination results (please check Attachment as the standard form)
7. Other relevant documents:
·The certificate of English proficiency. TOEFL: at least 80 points, IELTS: at least 6, or other relevant certificates of English as the working and learning language that will qualify as a proof for university study.
·A letter from your current employer certifying your employment status, or a letter from your current university certifying your expected date of graduation.
·The Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship.
NOTE: All the original documents will be checked upon enrollment.
Application Procedure
1. Register at CAU Application Portal http://apply.cau.edu.cn.
2. Choose Chinese government scholarship when you start your online application.
3. Find the master program under College of International Development and Global Agriculture, and apply.
4. Accomplish CAU Application Form for International Students and pay Application Fee of RMB 400. If you have not received the activation email, please check your Spam/Others folder in your email.
5. The deadline of application will be on March 31, 2021.
6. Please keep track of your application status after submission in the Application Portal.
